That's because a member of Usher's production team has come forward with claims that the R&B sensation may be trying to pull a fast one on the media.

In an exclusive interview, MediaTakeOut.com spoke with a person that is currently working on Usher's upcoming album. And that person suspects that Usher's engagement may be a fraud. The source tells, "There are a bunch of songs on the album that deal with heartbreak. One of them has [Usher] being dumped by an older woman." The tipster continued, "It's just way too convenient that he's singing about breaking up with an older woman on the album and he's engaged to an older woman in real life. It feels like I've been down this road before."

The insider is referring to the pregnancy rumor that surfaced shortly before the release of Usher's last album, Confessions. Before the albums hit stores, Usher's camp released a rumor that he and R&B singer Chilli split after he impregnated another woman. Many believe the rumor helped generate buzz about the album.

But our source isn't a fan of Usher's publicity stunts. The insider explains, "I'm a music purist so I really don't care for [publicity stunts]. Usher makes some really great music so I don't know why he has to use all these gimmicks to create hooplah. All it does is take away from the purity of the sound."

Usher Stylin' with Engagement

It looks like Usher's got it bad for the altar.

Much to the lament of his female fanbase, the R&B superstar with the six-pack abs will be leaving his bachelor days behind after getting engaged to his girlfriend, stylist Tameka Foster, sources confirmed to E! News.

No word exactly when Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond, popped the question or when the twosome will tie the knot. A rep for the 28-year-old singer has declined to comment on various media reports that the two decided to get hitched on Valentine's Day.

The first clear sign that Usher had taken himself off the market came during last Monday's NAACP Theatre Image Awards in Beverly Hills, where he accepted his Spirit Award by thanking Foster and introducing her as his "fiancée." Foster, 37, has also been spotted about town recently sporting a 10-carat rock on her ring finger.

The couple have been an item for a year. They first met back in 2004 when Foster, who has previously worked with such music stars as Toni Braxton and Lauryn Hill, joined Usher as a stylist on his Truth tour supporting his last multi-platinum album, Confessions, which spawned the mega-hit "Yeah!"

Apparently, not everyone is thrilled by the prospective nuptials.

According to the New York Daily News, Usher's mom, Jonetta Patton, who also serves as the Grammy winner's manager, is "flipping out" over the union, having previously fired Foster because "she didn't think she was dressing him according to the caliber of star he was."

Well then, perhaps she'll do better as his wife.

It will be Usher's first marriage and the second go-round for Foster, who was previously married to Ryan Glover, the cofounder of Atlanta-based Noontime Music.

Before he decided to start planning a wedding, Usher was taking on dames of a different kind, making his stage debut last August as fast-talking attorney Billy Flynn in the hit Broadway revival, Chicago. However, he was forced to quit the musical in October after coming down with a case of strep throat.

R&B singer Usher was sentenced last week to 20 hours of community service and a $425 fine after he was caught driving 166 km/h!

Usher fans everywhere are sending thank you cards to Judge Mitchell Scoggins for putting Usher out in public, doing some manual labour and, if all goes well, shirtless in the hot Atlanta sun.

The singer signed autographs for over a half hour in the courthouse after his sentencing.

Usher fined $425 for speeding in GA

Usher has been ordered to pay up for living life in the too-fast lane.

The Grammy winner was found guilty of speeding in a Georgia court Tuesday stemming from an incident last summer in which police clocked him doing 103 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The 28-year-old "Yeah!" singer and Georgia native appeared in Bartow County Probate Court to face the citation he received on July 4, when cops pulled over his 2005 Range Rover SUV on Interstate 75.

Judge Mitchell Scoggins issued a $425 fine to the multmillionaire, whose full name is Usher Raymond, and sentenced him to perform 20 hours of community service. It's unclear what form his service will take—garbage duty and hospital work have been recently favored by his fellow celeb outlaws—or how long he has to complete his task. However, Scoggins did say that Usher can perform his service closer to his home in Fulton, Georgia.

In any case, the megastar didn't seem too broken up about his punishment.

After leaving the courthouse, Usher spent 30 minutes schmoozing with fans and signing autographs, per the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The sentence caps off a bumpy few months for the singer. In late August, he took over the role of Billy Flynn in the Broadway musical Chicago but was forced to abruptly stop short his hit run in October after being diagnosed with strep throat.

Usher is also back in the recording studio to work on his as yet untitled new album. The album is rumored to be called "Mr. Entertainment", but this is not confirmed. Supposedly, there is a leaked Usher album on the Internet called The Masterpiece, however this is not an official album but a collection of unreleased material from his other albums.

A one minutes clip of a song entitled "Make It Rain" has leaked to the internet. It is unknown as of so far if this will be a single or not.

Usher is also back in the recording studio to work on his next album,(The Untold Story). It is scheduled for a summer 2007 release. Single (Girl Your Amazing). The album will feature production from The Neptunes, Jermaine Dupri, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Rich Harrison, Dre & Vidal, Robin Thicke, Ryan Leslie, and Swizz Beatz, and will feature Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Robin Thicke. Chris Brown is also rumored to be on the album.

In 2005, Usher announced that he was beginning his own record label, Us Records. The first three signees are rapper Rico Love, R&B group One Chance, and R&B solo artist Ryon Lovett. The first album from the label, One Chance's Private, is expected to be released on February 13, 2007. Rico Love's The 5th Element is expected to be released in early 2007.
